The DIRFloortime™ Community believes in fostering the potential of children with special needs. That is the reason that Stanley Greenspan created the DIR® Model and Floortime over 40 years ago. With years of experience in researching behavioral models, he came to the conclusion that a developmental model works for all children. A developmental model creates the relationships and keeps the child’s strengths and weaknesses in mind so that children flourish. ICDL, built on Stanley Greenspan’s ideals and nurtured by him, is committed to upholding that promise to families and children.

That promise relies on training the best clinicians and educators possible. ICDL is in the process of building its training, making it more efficient to serve the needs of candidates, and expanding its outreach to many members of the community.

Clinicians know that treating a child with special needs is a slow and careful process. It doesn’t happen in a weekend or a few hours of work. The same is true for training. Hands-on, thoughtful discussion and case critiques create the environment that supports the best. This is what children deserve.
